Hi! We are traveling 8/26-9/2 with 13 of us my WHOLE family!! 8 adults 5 kids! We are so excited!! We are staying at POR. Just seeing if you had any advice or recommendations for visiting Disney with a big group? You always have awesome advice!

    Hi John!

Thank you for sending in your question to the Walt Disney World Moms Panel.  Also thank you for the compliment.  Everybody on the panel enjoys helping guests plan their magical vacation.

This sounds like an awesome trip!  I suggest not trying to have everybody doing everything together all day long.  I have seen that done many times, and in general, I don't think it works that well.  Instead, I recommend starting off early in the morning together and then doing one or two popular attractions.  Then people can split up and get back together for lunch.  In fact, I do recommend having a nice Table Service meal for lunch and dinner.  That will give the group time to get back together and share their day in a fun and relaxing environment.

Along those lines, be sure to make Advanced Dining Reservations as soon as possible.  ADRs can be made online or by calling (407) WDW-DINE.  With such a large group, you might have to call the restaurants directly in order to get a reservation.  If you are having trouble finding restaurants, especially for dinner, for a large group, consider going to a nearby hotel for dinner or to Downtown Disney.  You can leave a theme park and then return to the same theme park on the same day without the Park Hopper option.  Hotel restaurants and Downtown Disney restaurants generally have more availability than the theme park restaurants, especially for large groups.

You might also consider doing the Pirates and Pals Fireworks Voyage.  Depending on the ages of the children, this can be a special experience that the entire group does.  Just be careful with very small children, because they may be scared of the noise from the fireworks, though the noise out on the water is less than the noise on Main Street USA.

I hope this helps!  Write back with more questions!
