I will be traveling with my two year old son to Disneyland and disney California adventure. This would be his first time. Do you have any tips on what I should bring? And will I be able to get into the parks with a lock for my stroller

Hiya, Destany! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

I can’t wait for you and your family to experience the Holidays at the Disneyland Resort! It’s my favorite time of year at the Merriest Place on Earth! And, what’s more magical than taking your little Mouseketeer to the Disneyland Resort for the first time?! You’re going to want to stop by City Hall in Disneyland Park, or Chamber of Commerce in Disney California Adventure Park, to pick up a “1st Visit!” button for your little one.

As for what to pack, I suggest bringing an extra pair of your child's clothes, and diapers if needed, along with wipes and sunscreen. I also bring my children's small Thermos water bottles, along with some snacks, such as crackers, granola bars, and food pouches. I also recommend packing a few lollipops or candies to enjoy while waiting for nighttime spectaculars or parades!

As a mom of three Mouseketeers, I also understand how important your stroller is during a long Disney day! Unfortunately, stroller locks are not allowed, since Cast Members occasionally need to move strollers to maximize space in the Stroller Parking areas. Not to worry, though – I visit the theme parks quite often, and I’ve never had an issue with losing my double stroller. I have exited an attraction and found my stroller has been moved by a Cast Member, but I’ve always found it in the same Stroller Parking area that I left it in. Usually, Cast Members rearrange the Stroller Parking areas as needed throughout the day. I recommend tying a balloon or ribbon to your stroller to help you identify it more easily. You can even add a luggage tag with your phone number or e-mail address in case it gets misplaced. Also, as a general precaution, I recommend bringing any valuables with you in a purse, backpack, or fanny pack, instead of leaving them in your stroller.

The Resort also rents single and double strollers near the entrance to Disneyland Park, if you prefer leaving yours at home. The Stroller Rental shop is adjacent to the Kennel, to the right of the Disneyland Park Main Entrance.

Also, be sure to check out the Baby Care Centers, where you can change, feed, or take a break with your little one. The Disneyland Park location is at the end of Main Street, U.S.A., and the Disney California Adventure Park location is on Pacific Wharf.

Please stop by with any additional planning questions you may have… I’m all EARs!
