Traveling 1st time to WDW Saturday Jan 2-9. Staying off-site (Kissimmee) 2 adults, 3 kids (age 5, 3, 1). Suggestions? TIPS?

Hi, Basia!   Welcome to Walt Disney World!   My first suggestion for you is to bring a double stroller!  With 3 little ones, you  will definitely need this.   Strollers are available for rent, but bringing your own is a real money saver.

Since you are staying off-property, you will need to pay $14 per day (subject to change) for parking at the theme parks.  Have your money/credit card ready as you approach the toll booths at the parking lot entrance.  This fee covers the entire day, so keep your receipt for park hopping or mid-day breaks so you don't have to pay twice.

Just because you are staying off-property does not mean you cannot visit the resorts!   Hopping on the monorail and heading to one of the Deluxe Resorts is a great idea for lunch and a nice break for your kids when you are at the Magic Kingdom.   If you do this early enough in your trip, you might catch a few holiday decorations still up.  I suggest the Grand Floridian.  The lobby is amazing!  When at Epcot, you can exit at the International Gateway (near France) and explore the Boardwalk and the surrounding resorts.

Make sure your bag is packed with everything you need.  You are not going to want to return to your resort if you forgot anything since you have a bit of a drive, so make sure your bag has baby items, crackers, snacks, water bottles, camera, autograph books, and a change of clothes for each of your kids.

One more tip:  when you enter each theme park, locate the Baby Care Center.   These are great for feedings and diaper changes and they also sell any baby necessities you may have left behind.

I hope you have a great time on your vacation!

Meet the Panelist: Cathy, Ohio

Hi, I'm Cathy from Cleveland. I love to travel, especially in the winter to escape the snow and cold of Ohio! My husband and 2 kids share my enthusiasm for travel, so we enjoy our adventures together whether it is hiking at a National Park, sailing on a Disney Cruise Ship, or going to Walt Disney World which is our home away from home. My husband proposed to me in front of Cinderella Castle and we have not stopped visiting ever since! It's a blast helping guests here at planDisney!
