Howdy, Shannon! Thanks for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel and asking your question!
I love that you don't want to miss out on a second of fun by going directly from the airport to the Disneyland Resort! No matter which way you enter the Disneyland Resort area, which includes the
Downtown Disney District, you will need to go through a security checkpoint. Since safety is a top concern at the Disneyland Resort, be prepared to open every pocket of your suitcase for inspection.
Also, you will want to ensure that your suitcase is small enough to fit in the largest
locker. Near the picnic area outside Disneyland Park, there are a few jumbo lockers that can accommodate large items, but they tend to sell out quickly. Another thing to keep in mind is that, according to
Park Rules, you cannot bring suitcases that are larger than 24" long x 15" wide x 18" high. This rule typically applies to the theme parks themselves, but it's possible that the rule could be enforced in the Downtown Disney District area as well.
If you are worried about being able to store your suitcase, it might be best to check in to your hotel first and ask to store your luggage. If you are staying at a
Disneyland Resort Hotel, you will lose hardly any time doing this as all three hotels are really close to the parks.
I hope you have a wonderful visit to the Happiest Place on Earth!
