We are traveling from out of state to Disneyland soon and plan to meet a friend (an Anaheim resident) there. Is it possible to pay for their discounted ticket and link them to our reservations without paying for the full-priced tickets?

Hi there, Miranda! Thank you so much for visiting planDisney with your question and it will be a pleasure to help you continue preparing for your upcoming vacation to Disneyland Resort!

I love to hear that you'll be meeting a friend during your vacation! Sharing Disneyland Resort memories with loved ones is pure magic, multiplied! I think I understand that you are hoping to purchase a special offer Anaheim Resident ticket on behalf of your friend. There are a couple of things you'll want to consider, here. First, this special offer ticket requires proof of residency both at the time of purchase and at the time of the ticket's use. Typically, this is in the form of a government-issued photo ID shown at the gate when the Guest uses the ticket, but proof of residency is also required in the account of the ticket purchaser (usually in their Guest profile). For this reason, it wouldn't be possible to purchase the ticket on their behalf. But, I do have an idea for you. If you wanted to gift the value of the ticket, I would recommend purchasing a Disney Gift Card in the estimated amount of the ticket, and then your friend could use it to purchase their own Anaheim Resident ticket! Disney Gift Cards can be purchased and delivered electronically, by email (or shipped by mail if you'd prefer!)

Miranda, another potential restriction is that the current Anaheim Resident ticket offer is only valid for use between August 5 and September 26, 2024. It is possible that a future special offer may become available for your visit in November, but I've not yet seen one. I'd recommend keeping your eye on the Special Offers & Discounts page to see when new offers are announced! In the meantime, you could certainly purchase a standard ticket for your friend and have them link it to their MyDisney account online or in the Disneyland mobile app

I'm sorry if this reflects some unexpected or disappointing news, Miranda. I hope your Disneyland Resort is full of all the magical moments awaiting you in 'The Happiest Place on Earth' with the ones you love! If we can help with anything else in the meantime, I hope you'll feel welcome to ask us another question here at planDisney. We'd be happy to help!

    Magically yours,
