Hello! I am traveling soon to Disneyworld with my mother who is disabled. Is there a way to have her transported from the park gate to the resort bus? It certainly is a long walk for her after an adventurous day!

    Hi, Susan!

If your mother is unable to walk to and from the bus stops, I suggest you rent an ECV from an outside rental company so you will have it for your entire stay.  Buses can accommodate wheelchairs and ECV's.  I'm thinking ahead to not only about her walking from the park gates to the buses, but once she gets off the bus at your home resort, it might be a bit of a trek to your room or even from your room to the food court.

ECV's and wheelchairs rented directly from Walt Disney World must remain in the parks.  However, if you rent from an independent company, you can keep it with you for your entire stay. Read up on the ECV INFORMATION and decide what might be the best avenue for your mom.

I hope this information helps!  Wishing your family a magical WDW vacation.

Meet the Panelist: Cathy, Ohio

Hi, I'm Cathy from Cleveland. I love to travel, especially in the winter to escape the snow and cold of Ohio! My husband and 2 kids share my enthusiasm for travel, so we enjoy our adventures together whether it is hiking at a National Park, sailing on a Disney Cruise Ship, or going to Walt Disney World which is our home away from home. My husband proposed to me in front of Cinderella Castle and we have not stopped visiting ever since! It's a blast helping guests here at planDisney!
