Hello! I will be traveling with someone allergic to eggplant. Right now at Harbor Galley, they are serving ratatouille soup. I'm concerned about cross contamination. Is the soup made there and we can just avoid, or is it made in a larger kitchen?

    Hello, Marriah!

I'm so glad you decided to get in touch with planDisney. My family also has food allergies, so I know how challenging it can be to navigate dining options and cross-contamination concerns while on vacation.

I did see that Ratatouille Soup is currently listed on the menu at Harbour Galley, and it includes eggplant, along with roasted tomatoes, garlic, and zucchini. Since ingredients and preparation methods can change at any time, I suggest stopping by Harbour Galley during your visit to Disneyland Park and asking to speak with a Cast Member who is trained in special diets. They should be able to give you the most accurate, up-to-date information about ingredients and food-handling procedures at that location.

Please keep in mind that while the restaurants take careful measures to reduce the risk of cross-contamination, they can't guarantee that any item will be completely free of allergens. Each Guest should make the choice that feels right for their individual dietary needs. Guests are also welcome to bring their own food into the parks if that feels more comfortable. More information about special diets can be found on the Disneyland website

With all of that in mind, my family has safely eaten at Disneyland countless times. We always let the Cast Members know of our food restrictions, and they are usually happy to review ingredients and preparation procedures with us. I do try to avoid the busiest meal times, since that can make things feel more rushed. In the end, it really comes down to each person's comfort levels and individual needs.

It looks like you will be visiting during the Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival, which runs from March 6 through April 27, 2026. This delicious event is packed with incredible food and beverage offerings! A foodie guide is usually released ahead of time, and feel free to stop by Guest Relations to ask about any allergens that may be present in the festival dishes.

Marriah, I'm sorry I can't give you a more definite answer, but I do hope your group finds plenty of tasty food to enjoy during your visit. Reach out to planDisney again if you have additional questions!
