We are traveling with our small dog is there suggestions how we can have her with us at the parks or any where a dog is permitted?

    Hey Howdy Hey, Kristine!

It's always a doggone good day when I'm able to assist a fellow pup parent here at planDisney!  I'm so glad you stopped by with a question about vacationing with one of your four-legged family members. Now, let's dig into the details of making your dog feel like The Most Magical Pup on Earth!

There's no need to ruff it in The Most Magical Place on Earth, so the first step in maximizing the magical moments you're able to share as a family is to ensure that you've booked a stay at one of Walt Disney World Resort's dog-friendly hotels: Disney's Art of Animation Resort, Port Orleans Resort – Riverside, Yacht Club Resort, and The Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort – A Disney Vacation Club Resort. Just register your dog when you complete the online check-in process, and upon arrival, you'll receive a Welcome Kit from Pluto filled with items and information that will enhance the stay of every member of your paw-ty.

Per Walt Disney World's pet policies, dogs must be well-behaved, up-to-date on all vaccinations, and leashed (or in a carrier) at all times. You'll also want to keep in mind that family pets are not permitted in any of Walt Disney World's theme parks, water parks, or Disney Springs, and that their access is limited to designated areas at your dog-friendly Disney Resort hotel, helpfully identified in the information you'll receive upon check-in. If you'd like to preview an example of this information, I've included a link here

Although your dog will be unable to join you in the theme parks, Disney's Art of Animation Resort is filled with fun photo-ops for you and your pup, and because dogs are unable to be left unattended in a hotel room for more than 7 hours at a time, you'll be able to spend plenty of quality time together exploring! You might even consider picking out a special treat in one of the theme park's gift shops for your pup. My husband and I once purchased chew toys in the shape of our favorite Mickey-shaped snacks for my family's trio of canines, and they were received with several minutes of magical tail wags. It was such a fun way to include our dogs in our Walt Disney World vacations!

I hope this helps you plan, Kristine! If you're in need of further assistance, don't hesitate to ask. I'd love to fetch additional information for you!

    Thinking Happy Thoughts,
    Lizzie
