Traveling in Sept with 3 & 1-1/2 yr old...first trip....any recs on dining e..know we are little late for char meals.....can we just wait til we arrive and go with the flow? THANKS!

    Hi Maggie!

I have some experience with last minute planned trips to Walt Disney World, so I understand the trouble finding reservations close to your travel dates. In many cases, it's worth a trying to make those advanced dining reservations even up to the same day of your visit. I've even been able to walk up to a restaurant with character dining and find seating in 15-30 minutes. It's always good to reserve your experience as far in advance as possible, but in circumstances like yours where it may be difficult to find openings, I suggest not worrying about it too much. Hope for the best, and have a back up plan. There are many table service and even quick counter service locations throughout Walt Disney World that are amazing, and you may even discover a hidden gem if you decide to eat somewhere that may not have originally been on your to-do list. Keep in mind that in addition to the Disney parks, some of my favorite restaurants are actually in the Disney resorts and Downtown Disney. You may even like the flexibility of going with the flow, since you'll be able to choose what to do and when to do it, asit best fits your family's schedule.

To sum up my advice: Keep trying for any reservations that are especially important to you, as they may become available even on the day of our visit. Be flexible and enjoy the options available to you as you discover Walt Disney World and all the magic it has to offer. Hope this helps!
