Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Jaime!
I say yes – absolutely pack those swimsuits!
Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa has some really great pool and splash areas, and if your children are anything like mine, they will see those pools and want to dive in immediately. The good news is, Walt Disney World Resort hotel pools are heated to a tropical 82 degrees year-round, so even if it’s a little cool, the water will feel just fine.
The weather in December can be unpredictable. I’ve experienced really warm days with strong sunshine (perfect for pool time!), but also very chilly days where sweatshirts are more appropriate than swimsuits. Even on cooler days, if that strong sunshine comes out, a dip in the pool might be the perfect thing – just keep your towels and cover-ups close by, because getting out of the pool on cooler days can be a little uncomfortable (or refreshing, if you’re Canadian like me). Note that the Recreation Cast Members will close the pool if the temperature outside reaches a certain point, or if weather is inclement, so if it’s cold outside, you might want to check with a Cast Member (you can always just call the Front Desk if you’re in your room) before suiting up.
Jaime, since you’re visiting during the holiday season, don’t miss the
Christmas Tree Trail at Disney Springs, which is right next door to your resort. It is so magical to wander the trail and see all the trees decorated in Disney themes, stop for hot cocoa and other festive treats along the way, and even stop for a visit with Santa Claus himself. Stay tuned to the
Disney Parks Blog for more details as we get closer to that merry time of year.
There is something so special about being able to stand in the middle of a snowfall during
Sunset Season’s Greetings at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and taking a dip in your resort pool – all in the same day! Soak in all that
holiday magic, and have the very best time!
Wishing you a merry and magical vacation,
Robyn
