Hi Shannon, thanks for bringing your question to planDisney!
Boy, do I understand where you're coming from! I also have a couple of very picky members of my household, and I've been in your situation before. While we know that our family is often happiest at the
Walt Disney World Resort, we also know the magic of Disney probably won't reach all the way to extending their palate! Once, we had a character dining experience where my little one left after eating nothing but a chocolate chip cookie. I have to say it wasn't ideal, but she was happy and still remembers that meal to this day!
Character dining is a perfect way to meet beloved friends from Disney movies and television shows. Even if your picky eaters only munch on a roll the experience itself may be worth the trip! However, there are many different menu options depending on which dining experience you choose, and hopefully at least one of the options includes something they will enjoy.
One way to work around hunger while allowing your family to still experience dining with the characters is to feed your picky eater ahead of time and then arrive for your meal. That way bellies will be full, and everyone will be ready to make some memories.
Bringing your own food or nonalcoholic beverages is also an option, since Disney Parks allow outside food through security.
If you choose to forgo the character meal and want to bump into your favorite characters outside of a dining experience, I recommend checking out the Tip Board of
Disney Genie Service on your
My Disney Experience account. On the
My Disney Experience mobile app, simply click on the "Tip Board" icon to be shown daily experiences in the park that include characters. Some experiences that pop up may be Character Cavalcades and standby lines to meet some of your favorite princesses or Mickey Mouse himself!
I hope these tips will help you make the most of your Walt Disney World Resort vacation and you get to meet all of your favorite characters while you're visiting!
