We are traveling with a party of ten to DisneyWorld and I wanted to know if we eat together and ask for separate checks, will the 18% gratuity be for each individual check or out of the complete party amount?Thank you

Hi Veronica! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

I bet you are thrilled to visit the Walt Disney World Resort with your group! I have been on a few trips with a large party of friends and we had SO much fun. We made special memories and had a LOT of laughs. I’m excited for you to do the same!

In my experience, the automatic 18% gratuity that is added for parties of six or more is calculated per check. When I have dined with a large group and one person was on a check, the gratuity was only 18% of that check, then if five people were on another check, 18% of their total bill was on their check. For your group, instead of the gratuity being evenly divided 10 ways, it should be per check. It is best to ask the Cast Member assisting you at your meal to confirm that this will be the case for your dining experience.

I hope this helps with your last-minute planning, Veronica! Please let us know if you have any other questions.
