Hey there, Nicole! Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel. Sounds like you are gearing up for a great trip to the Walt Disney World Resort. I have traveled with both of my sons when they were in the "terrific twos" so I know a Magical vacation is absolutely waiting for you.
Deciding between a stay at
The Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort and
Disney's Old Key West Resort might be harder than picking between Chip or Dale because they're both so much fun! If I were making this choice, and the stars aligned in my budget, I would likely stay with the 2-bedroom Villa at Disney's Old Key West Resort.
With four adults, one teenager and your terrific toddler in tow, Disney's Old Key West Resort will not only offer you more space (approximately 1,333 square feet) but more convenience getting to and from your Villa and the parks. If you're traveling with a stroller and extra luggage, you will have great storage space in the closets and room to spread out. And... did I mention there is a full-size washer and dryer inside your 2-bedroom Villa? That feature is one my favorite things about the
Disney Vacation Club Resorts! I also love that if you're making dinner plans at
Disney Springs you can hop on the
Disney Vacation Club Ferry instead of a bus. When my boys were little, the water transportation was like a bonus ride.
If you decide to keep your reservation at Disney's Old Key West Resort, might I suggest upon check-in that you request a villa close to Hospitality House? That will give you quick access to the bus stop and
Conch Flats General Store if you need to pick up any groceries or last minute necessities.
Whichever resort you choose, I hope that you have a truly unforgettable trip with your entire party.
Happy planning!
Lauren
