We are a traveling party of 6 adults and 1 small child. Can we schedule fastpasses for 3 adults while three sit with the non riding baby and then the other 3 adults ride with rider swap without having fastpasses?

Hi, Lisa! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thanks so much for stopping by with your question! Walt Disney World Resort recently enhanced the Rider Switch Service, making it now completely digital. I was able to experience the new system in November, when we spent a week in the parks with my one-year-old niece. I so appreciated the digital aspect of the system. Instead of having to keep up with a paper Rider Switch ticket, the Cast Members scanned the MagicBand or Disney Theme Park Ticket of each person who would be staying behind with my niece. Their return time was loaded on to their account, which was linked to our My Disney Experience accounts. Anytime we questioned what the return time was, we were able to pull it up right on the My Disney Experience mobile app. It showed up there just like the FastPass+ selections.

The way Rider Switch Service and its terms of use were recently explained to us, I do recommend that all of you, even those of you that are staying back with the child and ride later as Party Two, obtain a FastPass+ for the attraction if those in Party One plan to utilize the FastPass+ queue. With the system now being digital, the Cast Members do have the ability to double check the accounts of Party Two and convert the FastPass+ to Rider Switch. Of course, if Party One does not plan to use the FastPass+ queue and will be going through the standby queue, then you will not have to worry about FastPass+ for the second group. When you reach the attraction’s entrance, the Cast Member will assign the Rider Switch. Party One will proceed through the queue while Party Two heads off in search of a magical moment with the little one.

I hope this information helps you plan for your pixie-dusted adventures! Please let us know if you have any other questions.
