    Traveling from Oregon 2 Wine&Dine Half in Nov. Can race tracking work outside of DW so fam/friends can see my progress? Also, do you think it would be too much to also run the 5K same weekend? Beginning runner, 1st trip to DW & 1st half marathon.

    Hi Melinda!

    Thank you for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

    I'm so excited that the Wine and Dine Half Marathon will be your first half.  I think that runDisney races are perfect first events and the Wine and Dine is my personal favorite.

    Runner tracking will work anywhere.  When it gets closer to the race weekend, there will be a link for your friends/family to sign up.  They can choose to get text alerts and/or emails to track your progress.  My family enjoys tracking me on race weekends.

    I don't think it would be too much to run the 5K in addition to the half marathon.  If you are trained for the half, a 5K two days before will be a fun warm-up run!  The only down-side to doing both is having to get up so early on two mornings, but I think the races are well worth it.
