We are traveling to Old Key West in February and have family members with mobility issues. We understand there are only 1 or 2 buildings with elevator access? How can we reserve one of these buildings?

    Hiya Kim,

Welcome to planDisney; it is always a pleasure to see an Ohioan! Thank you so much for bringing your question to us today.

Escaping the winter weather to enjoy a relaxing vacation at Disney’s Old Key West sounds like the perfect February! Now let’s see if we can arrange for you to have a room that accommodates you and your family. There are two ways to submit a request for a room in a building with elevator access; one is through My Disney Experience, and the other is over the phone. Note that requests do not guarantee you will get the room in the building you need. The first way is to make a request through online check-in and My Disney Experience.

To request through My Disney Experience:

-Log on to your My Disney Experience Account and find your Walt Disney World Resort Collection Hotel Reservation under My Plans.

-Select the button that says “Start Check-In.”

-Once the page loads, scroll down until you see a blue box that says, “These Details Are on File.”

-Click “Show Details” at the bottom of the blue box.

-Under the expanded box, you should see “Room Request.” Edit the drop-down to indicate your preference for a building with elevator access.

-Lastly, be sure that the box marked “Please prioritize having my room ready earlier…” is not checked before confirming your selections.

I spoke to a Cast Member, and they recommend that you use the second option of speaking to a Cast Member over the phone at Disney Resort Hotel Reservations in this particular instance. There is still no guarantee that you will get a room in one of the two buildings with elevator access, but a Cast Member can assist you in making the appropriate note to your reservation.

I hope this was helpful, Kim! Please come back and see us if you need anything else.

    Happy Planning,

    Ashley F.
