Hiya Jennifer,
Welcome back to planDisney! We are so honored to help you plan your magical vacations to Walt Disney World Resort. The Holidays at the Theme Parks truly mark the “most wonderful time of the year.” It is hard for me to pick my favorite between Halloween and
Christmas. The décor for both is impeccable and always puts a smile on my face.
As you can imagine, Imagineers take decorating incredibly seriously at Walt Disney World Resort, so it takes several weeks to put the finishing touches on everything. In my experience from years past, as soon as the clock strikes midnight on the last night of
Mickey’s Not-So-Scary-Halloween Party, the pumpkins begin transforming and step aside for the yuletide season. This year the final night is November 1st, so you will likely see the initial stages of transformation at Magic Kingdom Park when you arrive. Since
Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party kicks off on November 9th this year, I suspect the transformation will be complete (or nearly complete by then). To increase your chances of seeing Magic Kingdom Park in all of its magical glory, I would plan my Magic Kingdom day closer to that time frame.
No matter when you schedule your Magic Kingdom Park day, Jennifer, I know it will be spectacular. Even in the beginning stages of decorating, Walt Disney World Resort is a sight to see. One thing to add to your itinerary, Jennifer is definitely
Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa’s Gingerbread House. While the dates for its completion haven’t been released yet, it might be fully ready during your visit. I always stop there yearly to get a tasty holiday treat and marvel at the incredible ingenuity. Trust me; you won’t want to miss it!
Please come back and see us if you need anything else!
Happy Planning,
Ashley F.
