Hi Kari,
We visited the Disney Parks with our little guy at the beginning of the year when he was newly potty trained as well. What worked really well for us was to offer our little guy frequent potty breaks and to never be too far from a restroom (and to make sure I knew where the closest one was at all times)!
The other part that worked really well was to take him to the
Baby Care Centers whenever we were close to one because they had kid-sized facilities for him to use. We brought him there even when he didn’t tell us that he “had to go”, and it worked out really well.
I also kept a change of clothes, a plastic bag and a pull-up diaper with us, just in case! I never had to use them, but it was nice to have that insurance, just in case!
Finally, I would recommend bringing a potty seat or whatever it is you use at home to use in your hotel room. If it’s too bulky to bring with you, you can have it shipped to your Walt Disney World Resort Hotel ether from home, or from an online retailer such as amazon.com. Having the “comforts” of home will go a long way towards making your little one feel comfortable and should keep potty training going smoothly, even during your vacation.
Please don’t hesitate to come back and see us if you have any other questions!
Have a Magical Day,
Lynne
