Ahoy there, Branda, and welcome back to the planDisney panel! My pals and I sure are glad you thought to cruise our again way with your question.
It sounds like you have been busy crafting a magical vacation with your mother! You are in for a real treat with the Disney Cruise that you have ahead of you. I absolutely love visiting
Castaway Cay with my family. With pristine beaches, plentiful activities, and picture-perfect surroundings, it is always our favorite stop on the itinerary.
The Disney Cruise Line wants to make it easy for all of their guests to enjoy what the island offers, so if you are concerned about the length of the walk from the ship to the tram stop, please visit the
Guest Services Desk the day before you reach Castaway Cay to speak with a Crew Member. They will be able to arrange for a quick golf cart ride from the ship to the tram. Additionally, they can provide you with more details about getting around the island and about the complimentary use of sand wheelchairs available for beach access.
Please note that the Disney Cruise Line ships are quite large. If you think your mother may benefit from
using a wheelchair or other mobility device while onboard, it will be necessary
to make arrangements to bring your own, or use a third-party company to rent one.
If you have more questions regarding accessibility during your cruise, please contact
Disney Cruise Line Special Services at (407) 566-3602 or via email at SpecialServices@disneycruise.com.
Branda, thank you for visiting us at the planDisney panel. I hope that you make magical memories while sailing with your mother. The times we spend at sea or ashore with loved ones are precious. May you have a treasure trove of memories to last a lifetime!
Happy Sailing,
Adrianna
