I will be traveling with a 5 month old in Oct. Will I need a car seat on the monorail and buses inside the parks? If I should keep her on my lap, do you think it would be best to secure her in a baby bjorn carry sling?

    Hi Kimberly,

Planning ahead when traveling with a 5 month old is super smart.  You will not need a car seat on the monorail or buses - there's actually no way to secure them in.  You can bring your stroller onto the monorails without folding them. I've seen a lot of parents leave their little ones in their strollers on the monorails.  Just make sure she's strapped in, you put on the breaks and hold onto it.

If you travel by Disney bus or one of the smaller water crafts, you will have to fold your stroller before boarding.

I've seen parents travel on the buses with their babies in their laps and they don't have a problem. Some babies are very wiggly. As you get closer to your trip & see you've got a little wiggle worm then you may want to secure her in her Baby Bjorn. I personally believe in doing what makes you feel most at ease so if you feel more comfortable by securing your baby in her Baby Bjorn, then do it. It would also leave you a little more hands free to assist with folding and unfolding her stroller.

Wishing you many magical memories :-) Allison
