We will be traveling with an 8 month old and we want to bring our own stroller, but we are worried about leaving it while we go on the rides. Will it be safe? Is there any way to lock it or prevent it from being stolen?

    Hi Jaclyn!

Ahhhh, the dilemma of every stroller pushing parent at Disney World!  Honestly, there is not a foolproof method of preventing your personal (or rented) stroller from being taken by another guest.  I use the word "taken" rather than "stolen," simply because I refuse to believe that someone would be awful enough to steal something from a child while at the happiest place on Earth!

Yes, yes, I realize that I may be naive, but everyone seems to be a little more friendly and trusting on Disney property.  That being said, I would absolutely put some identifying markers on your stroller.  Other than your name, I am a big fan of tying on a ribbon or cloth to make your stroller stand out as YOURS.  Particularly if your stroller looks like every other one on the market, try and think of something to personalize yours.  Many years ago, I had my stroller canopy monogrammed - I would love to see someone try and take that one!  While I have never done it, I have seen and heard of folks who tied a faux dirty diaper bag on the handle.  It was completely gross, but no one wanted to touch it!

A quick word of warning, the stroller police (aka Cast Members) will move your stroller nearly 90% of the time.  They like neat orderly rows and are continuously moving strollers to accommodate the flow of traffic.  Be sure not to panic if you don't see yours right where you left it, it has probably just been moved by a helpful Cast Member.  Enjoy your trip!

    Much pixie dust,
