I am traveling with a 10 month next month for a 3 night cruise. I requested a crib for the room but does anyone know if you are allowed to bring a matrress for the pack n play in your luggage? I’m afraid that he won’t sleep on the hard board.

    Ahoy there, Heather!

Welcome back to planDisney, and thank you for sailing by with your question. How exciting you are taking your little Mouseketeer on a Disney Cruise. My kids all took their first Disney Cruises at 12 months old, and rest assured - when it comes to the youngest Guests - Disney thinks of everything. I always say you are never too young (or old) for Disney.

Heather, I am happy to tell you that, yes, you can bring a foldable foam Pack 'n' Play mattress onboard if it fits inside your luggage. Fellow planDisney Panelist Dustin has noted that he has seen Guests use vacuum-sealed bags to make the most of their suitcase space. You just can't bring inflatable mattresses, as they aren’t permitted onboard. You can also bring your own Pack 'n' Play if you like, as long as it is fully collapsible and easy to stow; however, Disney Cruise Line can provide you with one (just note that they are subject to availability.) You can speak with your Stateroom Host or make a request through the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app. You can go into your reservation, tap “View All” under “Next Steps,” and scroll down to “Special Requests & Special Services.” Select “Child Amenities” and you’ll be able to request one right there. It does come with a fitted sheet but no bumper pad.

Here's a tip for you, Heather. If you need a Diaper Genie, just ask your Stateroom Host on the first day, and they can bring one to your room.  At dinner, the dining team can provide you with a high chair, and if you would like fresh, pureed food for your little one, the chefs can make it for you.  When we sailed with our little ones, the wonderful dining team that traveled with us each night brought our kids a puree without even asking. Now that's magic!

If you need to retire to your Stateroom early for your little Sleeping Beauty, you can often watch the stage shows on your Stateroom TV. This way you won't miss a moment of the magic!

I hope this helps you, Heather! If you have any further Disney vacation planning questions, sail back here to see me and I'll be so happy to help you.
