Hi, I will be traveling with my mom who has severe COPD and will need a wheelchair the entire trip is there anyway I can reserve one starting at our hotel and then take that to the parks with us?

Jessica, my warmest welcome to you and your mama to planDisney. Walt Disney World will be such a magical experience to share together.

Let's get to your answer. Yes, you can rent an ECV or wheelchair day-by-day or for your entire stay through providers such as ScooterBug. If you're staying at a Disney Resort hotel and rent an ECV or wheelchair through ScooterBug, you don't have to be present when the equipment is delivered to your hotel. ScooterBug will coordinate with Disney Resort Cast Members to ensure smooth delivery and return of the equipment. Please know that most attractions allow Guests to remain in their mobility vehicle until boarding an attraction.

You may also like to look into the Disability Access Service (DAS), which helps Guests unable to wait in a traditional queue due to a disability. My final tip would be to research Disney's Genie+ service. This paid service provides access to Lightning Lanes, where you can expect shorter queues for attractions.

I want to assure you that even if the worst happens at Walt Disney World, there is help on hand. We had an incident with a family member that saw our loved one transported swiftly to First Aid. The Cast Members could not have been more accommodating, and the health staff more caring. So, while I hope you never have to see inside the First Aid under such circumstances, please know that the well-versed and professional staff are able to help with any questions or accommodations.

Jessica, I hope your entire adventure is sprinkled with the pixie-dusted magic only found in Walt Disney World. We just celebrated Mother's Day here in the UK, and it always serves as a timely reminder to cherish our mamas. Have the best time together.
