Welcome, Therese! Walt Disney World Resort strives to accommodate the needs of all their Guests, including those that may require additional assistance to make their vacations even more magical!
The place
Where Dreams Come True is, by far, one of the most accessible vacation destinations that you can possibly visit. To afford all visiting Guests an enjoyable, comfortable and inclusive visit, Disney provides the Disability Access Service Card (DAS). Take a peek at the
Disney Parks Disability Access Service Card Fact Sheet. The DAS is issued to Guests with a wide variety of special needs. Do be sure to check the very useful guide of
Attraction Details for Guests with Cognitive Disabilities - Walt Disney World® Resort prior to your visit.
If your mother-in-law will be needing the use of a wheelchair/ECV during your visit, then please read about
Services for Guests with Mobility Disabilities too. Also, Disney Resort hotels offer accessible Guest rooms with wheelchair-accessible bathrooms. All the hotels feature an accessible path of travel to the various Resort installations. Some even have zero-entry pools with a beach-like entry that gently and gradually slopes into the water. For more information about mobility access at the Disney Parks and Resort hotels, please contact Disability Services at (407) 560-2547 or email
disability.services@disneyparks.com.
I hope this information was helpful, Therese. Please write back with more questions as you continue to plan your visit to Walt Disney World Resort!
