We will be traveling to MK on 3/19 ( I see this is one of the busier times) I am traveling with boys 5,7,16,18. Please tell me if this is feasible. Rope drop at MK, with younger boys, fantasyland, tomorrowland. Pick up boys head to DHS for remainder?

    Hi Melanie,

Having teenagers shifts your theme-park schedule, doesn't it? We always made rope drop when our girls were little but I don't think we've made it to a park at opening time since the older one became a teenager.

So your park-hopping plan sounds like a great one to make everybody happy. To minimize your waits during the afternoon, when parks tend to be busiest, I suggest you book your three FastPass+ reservations for later in the day at Hollywood Studios. The lines should be shorter at Magic Kingdom early in the morning.

When we visited with both daughters at Thanksgiving, we set all our FastPass+ options for 2 p.m. or later all week, and it worked fabulously.

The other thing that works well with teenagers for us is to visit Magic Kingdom late at night. It is open until at least midnight the week of your visit (until 2 a.m. on days with Extra Magic Hours). The crowds thin considerably after Wishes at 10 p.m.

I hope that helps. Please let me know if I can answer other questions for you. Even though you are visiting at a busy time, a little planning will help you have a fabulous vacation that keeps everyone happy. Enjoy!
