    We'll be traveling in May w/an almost 3 yr old &  5 yr old. We want to stay in a resort w/EASY access to MK, ideally 1 or 2 bedrms, maybe a pool, w/o COMPLETELY breaking the bank(~ 5k/week). Best options for us? Is May a good time?

    I would recommend checking out the Deluxe Villas.  They are have pools and complimentary transportation to and from all the WDW parks including Magic Kingdom.  They all book up very quickly.  One of the largest Deluxe Villa resorts is Saratoga Springs.  The one and two bedroom villas there are very spacious and definitely give you that home away from home feeling.

    If you are willing to pay more to be closer to the Magic Kingdom then check out the multiple room suites at Disney's Wilderness Lodge and the Contemporary resort.  These two resorts are the closest to Magic Kingdom, but tend to be more expensive and book up very quickly.  A slightly different alternative would be a deluxe room at the Wilderness Lodge.  These rooms come with a separated sitting room.
