Hi, We are traveling to Magic Kingdom in 23 days for the first time with our 18 month old son. Where is the best place to get pictures with Mickey and to have character dinning? Thanks

    Angela:

Congratulations on your first Disney vacation!  What a memory you are making with your son!

There are several good places to get pictures with Mickey while dining:

    1. Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary: Mickey and all the gang give lots of attention to diners--and the food is yummy!  On a budget?  Make a reservation for their latest breakfast seating (around 11 a.m.) and skip lunch.
    2. Garden Grill at the Land Pavilion in Epcot:  Wanna see Mickey in his overalls?  Catch him here.  The restaurant gently revolves allowing you to enjoy the landscape of The Land ride below.  It's all-you-can-eat-from-the-skillet dinner hallmarks the bounty of the land.
    3. Tusker House at Animal Kingdom: Catch Mickey dressed for the intrigue of the safari--only at breakfast!
    4. Ohana's at the Polynesian: No, Mickey isn't dressed in a grass skirt doing the hula, but Lilo & Stitch join him for a fun time. An early seating time can still get you into the Magic Kingdom via the monorail before the crowds build, and don't miss the "POG" (pineapple, orange and guava juice)!
And if you can't get enough of Mickey in the restaurants, did you know that Disney Visa cardholders have an exclusive location for pictures with Mickey at Epcot?  The short line to see him (not to mention the FREE picture from PhotoPass) is reason enough to look into getting the Disney Visa!  (Plus you have six months, interest-free to pay for your Disney vacation!)

And another good location: The Judges Tent in Toontown.  Go during the afternoon or evening parade when all the bigger kiddies are watching the parade, and you'll find a much shorter line!

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
