Hi, Jennifer! Thanks for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel.
I am so excited to hEAR that you will be celebrating your little princess's birthday at the Most Magical Place on Earth! Be sure to ask a Cast Member at your
Walt Disney World Resort Hotel or any
Guest Relations location for a happy birthday button for her to wear. She will love all of the happy birthday wishes she receives from Cast Members and other guests when she wears her special celebration button.
My favorite way to take in the
Happily Ever After Fireworks is with a dessert party, and I think that would be a perfectly pixie-dusted way to celebrate your daughter's birthday. I love the
Fireworks Dessert Party with Plaza Garden Viewing; it is my favorite way to end a day at
Magic Kingdom Park. For this event, you will head to Tomorrowland Terrace Restaurant for check-in 90 minutes before the start of the fireworks. Once you're all checked in, you can enjoy a buffet of savory snacks and delectable desserts. After you've had your fill of treats, a Cast Member will escort you to the Plaza Gardens where you will view the Happily Ever After Fireworks. Since this area is reserved for dessert party guests, there is plenty of room, and you can avoid staking out a good viewing spot hours in advance. The view of the fireworks and the projections on
Cinderella Castle from the Plaza Gardens are breathtaking! In my opinion, this is the best place from which to take in this nighttime spectacular.
The only downside to this particular option is that there are no chairs or benches in the Plaza Gardens. If you wish, you can sit in the grass while you are waiting for the show to start, but you will need to stand during the fireworks. If you wish to have a reserved seat, you could instead book the
Fireworks Dessert Party at Tomorrowland Terrace. This option gives you the same experience as the other dessert party, except you will have a reserved table in the restaurant with a great view of the fireworks that you may remain at to watch the show. I think the view is a little better in the Plaza Gardens, but at the end of a busy theme park day, a reserved seat sounds quite appealing. If you decide to attend one of these dessert parties, be sure to make a reservation as soon as possible.
If you would rather not book a dessert party, I would try to find a spot in the "hub" area in front of Cinderella Castle for the best view of the projections. Just be sure to arrive well in advance, and bear in mind that you will most likely need to stand in this area as well. The resort hotels along the
monorail are a great place to view the fireworks away from the hustle and bustle of the park. However, with this option, you will miss the Cinderella Castle lighting effects. No matter where you watch from, I'm sure this will be your daughter's most magical birthday ever!
