Greetings, Caitlin, and welcome to planDisney with your important question about Disney’s
Disability Access Service (DAS).
My family is grateful for this accommodation for my autistic adult son, which really helps us tour the Theme Parks with greater ease in consideration of my son’s special needs. We used the
DAS Advance Planning Option for our initial registration call from the comfort of our home. A helpful Cast Member consulted with us, deemed the accommodation appropriate and took a quick photo of my son. The Cast Member assisted us with pre-selecting up to two experiences per day of our visit, pending availability. During our consultation, all members of my travel party (four) were in my
Family & Friends list in My Disney Experience account, thus we were able to associate these Guests to my son’s DAS accommodation.
While I fully understand that your party comprises of eight Guests, my past experiences have typically been no more than six including the Guest using the DAS, therefore I will suggest that you speak with the Cast Member about this for ideas on how to best accommodate your travel party. Another service that we regularly use, is the
Rider Switch, and this may be something suggested to your travel party at Guest Relations.
Since the child is pre-registered, I highly recommend that your entire travel party head to Guest Relations inside any Theme Park on your first day. The reason for needing the entire travel party is that if Guest Services deems the DAS appropriate, then all will need to present their valid Theme Park Admission, or active MagicBand to be associated to the child who needs the DAS.
Before you arrive, please ensure that all in the travel party are listed in the Family & Friends list, and that everyone has valid Theme Park admission and reservation via the
Disney Park Pass system.
We thank you for consulting
planDisney, we wish you a magical vacation, and hope to be of any assistance again soon.
Best Disney Wishes,
Jacqueline
