We are traveling with kids, girls 6 & 8, and grandparents (6 of us total). Which do you recommend the cabins at Wilderness Campground or Coronado Springs?

Hi Anatasia!  In May I had the first opportunity to try the Wilderness Cabins in Fort Wilderness. I enjoyed the peacefulness and the feeling of being out doors and the full kitchen facilities of the cabin. My only negative is the storage space with the cabins having only one very small closet and one small drawer chest.  Although the cabins can sleep six I would not recommend that and instead suggest you get two cabins.  You would also need two rooms at the Coronado Springs resort.

Fort Wilderness is a different Disney experience and one that I thoroughly enjoyed.  This is the place you can find the stables for the Disney horses and can visit them as well as take a pony ride.  Mickey's Backyard Barbecue is a great character meal experience for the children and then Hoop De Doo is a fun and wild dinner show.  You have easy access to the Magic Kingdom via boat launches and then buses to all other parks.  You give up a bit of convenience with the transportation since you have to use the internal buses to get to the main park bus stop area but you gain such peace and quiet staying in this area.  If you want to save money having the full kitchen facilities plus a grill on the deck is definitely beneficial.

Coronado Springs is a lovely resort and one that I often recommend so it is a personal preference to what kind of experience you are looking for during this vacation!
