Hello Phil!
Welcome to planDisney! Oh Phil it looks like you are spending the Thanksgiving holidays in the most magical place on Earth! I love that you are traveling with your kids and trying to involve them in the planning.
If they have a smartphone they can download the My Disney Experience Mobile App.
If they are 13 or older then they can create their own
MyDisney account using an email and password. If they are under the age of 13 I recommend creating a managed profile for them that you manage. The managed profile lets them select their Disney character icon but they can't log in or book anything. They would have to use your account information when accessing the app. Be mindful that you are responsible for your account and its security so if a little one decides to use
Mobile Food & Beverage Ordering to get some mini corn dogs from
Casey's Corner then you are responsible for that purchase. It's a delicious purchase so I would support them in this.
If your little ones are 13 and older and have their own accounts then they can just use that login to access the app. Another thing to remember is that payment information cannot be saved in the app until they turn 18 so they will have to manually enter any credit cards or gift cards when checking out via the app. They can however view their plans and use many of the other features in the app.
No matter which age these kids are and if they have a profile or not, make sure that you are all linked together on the
Family & Friends List. This is how you can ensure that everyone is included in all the plans you make. I had a friend who had her teenage daughter help her secure Lightning Lane return times and a spot on the
Virtual Queue. It was so helpful to her to have quick fingers and support throughout the trip!
I hope that you all have a magical time!
Happy Planning!
