We will be traveling with 3 kids ages 14, 8, and 2, we are torn between Art of Animation or Cabins at Fort Wilderness? One of my concerns is that the transpiration at Fort Wilderness takes too long. Please help!

    Hi Nicole!

Fort Wilderness is one of my favorite Walt Disney Resorts.  I grew up camping there and have had an annual trip in the cabins for the past three years.  The best way to get around the Fort is to rent a golf cart from the resort.  (Advance reservations are extremely encouraged.)  Not only are they a super convenient way to get around, they are tons of fun!  You can drive your golf cart anywhere on the designated paths including right to the marina or right up to the front where the main bus stop is to get to the parks. This is an added cost, so that has to be factored into your decision.  If you don't have a golf cart, you will need to take the internal Disney buses wherever you want to go.  This can take quite a bit of time because they make frequent stops.  A major perk of this resort is the location.  You can take a ferry boat right to the Magic Kingdom.  There are lots of activities here that Art of Animation does not offer like water craft rentals and my favorite, Chip 'N Dale's Campfire Sing-A-Long.  The little ones can take pony rides for a small fee.

Art of Animation is my favorite value resort.  I just love the artistry and theming of the entire resort.  We stayed in a Little Mermaid room last weekend and it was great.  The pools are the main reason I chose this resort since my kids are water babies.  The Big Blue Pool is perfect for all ages having a zero entry point as well as a little sprayground.

You can't go wrong with either resort.  Sit down with your children and show them photos from each resort and let them help make the decision!

    Have a magical day!
