I am traveling in June with my 8 year old grand daughter. I don't want to have my credit card on her magic band. But I would like to put a $50 gift card on her band so that she can buy her own snacks. Is that possible?

    Hello Eileen!

As a "Nana" myself I know how fun and fulfilling it can be to provide our grandchild with magical experiences at the Walt Disney World Resort. We too provide gift cards to our grandson when visiting the parks. When you connect a credit card for charging you are actually connecting it to your room. Your MagicBand is then also linked to your room making it possible to charge. However, it isn't possible to connect Disney Gift Cards to your room at this time.

One thing we have done it to either carry our grandson's gift card or to provide him with a lanyard and card holder so he can carry his own. This gives them the opportunity to gain some freedom and experience with responsibility. Another option is to go ahead and charge for them but keep the receipts so they can practice math in keeping track of their expenditures.

I hope this is helpful and I hope you and your granddaughter have a Magical time!

    See ya real soon,
    Anne
