We will be traveling with an infant and a 5 year old, though we know both would be magical which party, Halloween or Christmas would be best for our 5 year old on his first Trip to Walt Disney World?

    Hi Amanda,

How much fun to be considering holiday seasons for your son's first trip to Walt Disney World!  I was lucky enough to attend both Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party and Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party last year.  I agree with you - both are magical and would be wonderful for your 5-year-old.  I do not think that there is a wrong answer here!

If I had to choose one for you to attend, I would recommend Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party.  I like this party just a little bit more for a couple of reasons.  I really like the parade at this party - which includes amazing entertainers dancing with shovels, and I must admit that I was thrilled that there was a Bloodhound in the parade!  The bigger reason that I would pick Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is the trick or treating spots.  There are so many of these throughout the Magic Kingdom, and they are fun for children and adults to go to and collect candy.  I think that this unique activity makes Mickey's No-So-Scary Halloween Party just barely nudge out Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party as my favorite.

I hope that these thoughts are helpful for you, Amanda!  Have a great time planning your vacation, and please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions.
