I am traveling with an infant on our vacation. Had read in a travel guide that it may be easier and cheaper to ship baby food to resort. Has anyone done this or heard about it?

    Hi Jennifer!

Yes, I have done this...when I lived out of state and the kids were little I would ship a box full of diapers, baby food, and snacks to my resort.  It might seem pricey, but purchasing these things on Disney property can get really expensive.

Since shipping costs are based on weight, you are actually in good shape here.  Diapers are pretty light, so are snacks.  The real way to make sure you don't weigh it down is to send the baby food that is packaged in plastic containers rather than glass.  Please don't pack glass.  Those boxes are thrown around during shipping and even though they don't look broken, shards of glass can be in the baby food.  Besides, glass is heavy.   You can also save a few dollars if you send it "snail mail" . Choosing regular mail rather than priority shipping will be a lot cheaper.

You also have another option if shipping is to pricey.  Visit greengrocer.com.  You can pre-order what you'll need and they will deliver it to your room.

If you are planning to ship remember that when addressing the package make sure the information goes in the following order:

    1.    Resort Name
    2.    Your Name
    3.    Check In date
    4.    Resort Address

I hope this helps!  Have a great time on your vacation!!!
