I am traveling with my husband and 9yr and 6yr old to MK for two days with a 1 night stay at the Pop resort. Do most families find it helpful to take afternoon breaks at the resort? is it more work to travel back and forth to the park?

    Hi Crystal,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. You are about to embark on a fun-filled adventure!

I do recommend a daily rest during a long vacation. It helps families with young children enjoy relaxing at their Disney Resort Hotel as well as take in all of the excitement of the parks. This is a great option, especially if you think your kids might want to nap.

That said, for the length of your trip and considering the ages of your children, I don't know that I would take the time to return to Disney's Pop Century Resort for a mid-day break. A well-planned day in the parks can allow time for rest without leaving.

I recommend enjoying your morning at Magic Kingdom Park after a hearty breakfast and snack through lunch. Then, plan for an early dinner following the afternoon parade. That way, everyone will have a chance to sit down, have some food and relax.

You could also plan your FastPass+ selections for this time or enjoy some indoor attractions like The Hall of Presidents, Walt Disney's Carousel of Progress and Mickey's PhilharMagic.

Another strategy would be to enjoy the park early one day and return to your Resort in the evening and plan to stay later on the other day. And you always have the option to rent a stroller if you need it!

I hope these ideas help you plan a great vacation, Crystal. Enjoy!
