I will be traveling with my husband, my son (3 yrs), daughter (1 yr) and staying at the Dolphin's Resort for a week. My husband will be working during the day, so this mommy will be all alone. What are your suggestions for activities during the day?

    Hi Andrea,

Thanks for visiting Disney Parks Moms Panel.

A week at Walt Disney World Dolphin Hotel sounds simply wonderful. While you're waiting for your husband to sing "Heigh-ho, heigh-ho, it's home from work I go," I think you and your 2 little ones will find lots of Mommy and Me time to enjoy. Here are a few ideas for fun outside the theme parks. When our own little guy was about the age of your son, he loved the children's playground near the hotel's beach area. Then of course, there's the hotel's amazing grotto pool itself. From your hotel, you can take a short and pleasant stroll over to Disney's BoardWalk for shopping, riding Surrey Bikes, and treating yourself to delicious fun from spots like Ample Hills Creamery ice cream parlor and BoardWalk Bakery. You can also enjoy the complimentary Friendship Launch water taxis to cruise around Crescent Lake, and it makes stops at your hotel as well as Disney's BoardWalk. You can head over to the nearby Fantasia Gardens and Fairways Miniature Golf for a fun round. For a farther adventure, you can spend a day at Disney Springs for shopping, eating, and activities. When our son was about the age of your youngest, he loved riding the Marketplace Carousel. And while you're at Disney Springs, be sure to visit the LEGO Store for lots of imaginative playtime.

Andrea, I hope this gives you a few ideas for exploring.

    Enjoy your Disney!

The playful and creative optimism of all things Disney has enthralled me since I was a kid. I loved watching "The Wonderful World of Disney" on Sunday nights, seeing all the live-action and animated classics in theaters, and — of course — visiting "The Most Magical Place on Earth" for the first time 45 years ago. These days, the big kid in me still loves to play Disney. As a long-time Disney destinations vacationer, I'm looking forward to helping you play Disney starting here at planDisney!
