Traveling with my husband, parents, and two year old in two weeks, and wondering what the best way to get from Port Orleans Riverside to the Grand Floridian is for dinner. We will not have a car seat, so a cab is not an option.

The best way to get from Port Orleans Riverside to the Grand Floridian resort is to take the bus to the Magic Kingdom.  When you arrive there walk to the monorails and get on the resort monorail and the Grand Floridian will be the fourth stop.  You can also take the water taxi from the Magic Kingdom to the Grand Floridian.  This trip might take as long as 45-55 minutes depending on your timing for busses and monorails so be sure and give yourself plenty of time to reach the restaurant for your dining reservation.  When you are done, if it is not too late, you can retrace your steps to catch a bus back to Port Orleans.  If the park is closed and the busses have stopped running there you can catch the Downtown Disney bus and transfer to your resort bus from that location.

Just as a matter of information, I have used taxis many times while at Disney and you can request one that is carrying a car seat.   I have found that the van cabs will be more likely to have one in the back then regular sedan cars.  You can have the valet help you make the call and request if you want to try that on your next visit.
