Hi Geri Lyn! I wanted to make sure I had the correct answer for you as this can be a tricky situation as I am sure you know. My father had a female caregiver for several years and I completely understand you wanting to ask these questions before you arrive.
Fort Wilderness Campground Resort is a special resort at Walt Disney World and one where I spend quite a bit of time every year. We love "camping" in our motor coach and bringing our two dogs along with us. The comfort stations are some of the cleanest we have ever seen in campgrounds across the country and include wonderful laundry facilities as well. Unfortunately, these well situated comfort stations have a women side and a men side but they do not have family facilities. There are two family restrooms only at the Meadows pool as well as Pioneer Hall but these do not include showers. All of the comfort stations will have handicap bathroom and the showers include a dry room and then the actual shower room with a private door.
There are many of the cabins located at Fort Wilderness that do have handicap access and facilities if that would be easier for you to manage. If you need to change that reservation to a cabin they will be happy to accommodate you.
If you are unable to change to a cabin then they ask that when you check in to please alert them of your needs. They will assist you so you can use the comfort stations when needed and work out some sort of plan.
Most of the loops have one comfort station so it would likely be best to be placed as close to one as possible in that loop. Since these requests are important for you to enjoy your stay please feel free to contact Fort Wilderness before your stay at 407-824-2837. Alert them of your check-in date so they will be ready to make preparations for you when you arrive. I hope this helps and please ask me any more questions you might have.
