Rebecca from FL Asked Note: This answer was provided prior to the change to planDisney and may still contain references to Disney Parks Moms Panel.

I will be traveling in a group with a family from Florida. As everyone else is a Florida resident and one person is purchasing all of the tickets and hotel rooms, what do I do about my non-Florida residency for the additional cost?

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Rebecca! I think it’s so fun that you’re planning to visit the Walt Disney World Resort with a group of friends early next year!

When it comes to Special Offers for Florida Residents, such as discounted theme park tickets and Disney Resort hotel stays, Proof of Florida Residency is always required for any guest over the age of 18 to redeem those offers.

Guests can present their Proof of Florida Residency at any Guest Services or ticket window at any of the theme parks or Disney Springs. Since you’re not a Florida Resident you would not be able to purchase and use theme park tickets meant for Florida Residents. But, there’s no reason why you wouldn’t be able to share a Disney Resort hotel room with a friend who is a Florida Resident, paying a Florida Resident rate for the room.

The person purchasing the tickets should purchase a non-Florida Resident ticket for you (if you are not a resident of the state of Florida).

As you’re putting together the details of your magical visit, don’t forget that you can start making your dining reservations. Disney Resort hotel guests can start making their FastPass+ selections 60 days before their visit. If you’re staying off site, you can make those selections 30 days before your visit.

Rebecca, I hope this information has been helpful to you. Don’t hesitate to stop by again with any other questions you might have about your trip! It’s our pleasure to help you with all the details!
