Hi, Karen! Welcome to planDisney.
What a lucky grandson you have! He must be so excited to go on a Disney Cruise with you. It is essential that you have the
Authorization for Minor to Travel without a Parent or Legal Guardian form in a circumstance when a minor is traveling without their parents. You can
download the form from the Disney Cruise Line website. I also recommend that you make a copy for his mother to keep, and an extra copy to take with you, just in case!
My son just sailed with his great aunt and the two of them had a great time. They were seated at a table with adults and children of similar ages, and my son made friends right away! I'm hoping the same for you. I recommend that you check out the
youth spaces onboard the first day of the cruise so that your grandson can see all that is offered just for him. You can enjoy these spaces together, any time an
Open House is taking place. The Open Houses will be listed in the Daily Activity Schedule within the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app and can be referenced once you are on the ship.
If your grandson has a cell phone, make sure he has downloaded the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app too. You can use the chat feature to keep in touch if at any time you decide to do your own thing. There will be
plenty of activities for both of you to enjoy and some adult-exclusive offerings too if he wants to go hang out with new friends on board.
I'm wishing you a wonderful sailing! Bon Voyage!
