We are traveling with Grandparents who would need some type of go cart to get around the park with us. How much would this cost?

    Hi Dee,

How wonderful that you are going to be able to share your Walt Disney World visit with your extended family! Having grandparents along makes the experience even more special.

There are lots of option for anyone who needs a little help navigating around Walt Disney World.

You can rent an ECV (which stands for Electric Conveyance Vehicle) for the day at any of the theme parks, the water parks or Disney Springs. These are great when you have no issues navigating on Disney transportation or from the parking lot but know you won't be able to put in all the steps in a Disney day without exhausting yourself.

If you need mobility assistance beyond the parks, you also can rent an ECV for your length of stay at a Disney resort from a third-party provider. Currently, ScooterBug is the featured provider for Walt Disney World. I had an accident a few year ago that left me wheelchair-bound for several months. On two visits during those months, I rented an ECV from ScooterBug that was delivered directly to my resort. I didn't have to be present. The company left the ECV with Bell Services and I claimed it and returned it there on my schedule.

I rode the ECV onto buses, the Skyliner and across multiple theme parks and into resort restaurants. With this assistance, I was able to enjoy my visit just like always, without my husband having to push me in a wheelchair.

You can find current pricing for daily and long-term rental on the ECV Rentals page.

In my experience, Walt Disney World does a great job of accommodating mobility needs without making you feel uncomfortable or stressed.

If you want to know which rides and experiences are ECV-friendly, you can filter your search of the Disney World Rides & Entertainment to find which allow you to remain in your wheelchair or ECV, which require transfer and which have devices to assist transfer. (You can also filter this list by age, height, type of attraction, and area of interest.)

Thanks again for stopping by, Dee. Please let us know if we can help with any other questions as you plan your multi-generational vacation.

    Enjoy every magical moment,

    Wilma
