Hi Nicole,
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, and thank you for bringing your question to us. I am so, so excited for your upcoming stay at
Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. I stayed there for the first time last year and just loved everything about the resort - the incredible lobby (take a deep breath: it smells amazing), fantastic dining, beautiful rooms, and awesome location on the resort monorail loop. It’s just so dreamy!
I love to visit Walt Disney World with my family, and we’ve been in this situation. I advise contacting Walt Disney World Resort Reservations at (407) 939-1936 and asking to add a note to your reservation requesting adjoining rooms. Because of the layout of the resort, you may not be able to get a studio room next to a 2-bedroom villa, but the Reservations Cast Member will be able to help you figure out those logistics and can certainly add a note for the room assigner that you would like the two rooms to be close to one another. You might also want to call the resort on check-in day morning to remind them of this request. Remember that these requests are not guaranteed, but the Cast Members want to sprinkle pixie dust on your vacation if they can.
Even if you’re not directly beside each other, never fear! My best friends and I were located in the same building and we had no trouble finding each other even when we weren’t right next door. It’s always fun to explore a new resort, check out each others' rooms, and find the wonderful Disney details everywhere!
Nicole, I hope your group has an
Incredible Summer vacation at Walt Disney World!
Wishing you a magical vacation,
Robyn
