Traveling 8/19-8/23...what's a good indoor backup plan if it rains our entire stay (we have a 5yr girl and 4 yr boy)?

Hi Melissa!  That is a great week to go!  You should have good weather and less crowds.

One great thing about rain in Orlando is that it generally doesn't last long.  It also means that the parks will be less crowded, which makes it some of our favorite times to be there!  We grab a poncho and soldier on. Of course, if it is a downpour or lightning, that changes things, but generally a little rain doesn't put a damper on our trips.

If you aren't a big fan of the rain, there is still a ton of things to do at Disney World.  You could go to Downtown Disney to shop, eat, catch a movie at the AMC Theaters, see an awesome Cirque Du Soleil, or spend hours playing games at DisneyQuest.   Several resorts also have arcades and some rooms come with DVD players if you wanted to have a movie night in the room.  My family likes to play cards, so we always pack several different card games and enjoy spending some time on our room balcony playing cards with each other.

Overall,  you can still enjoy the Disney parks even in the rain.  There are plenty of restaurants and shops to duck into if it gets too heavy, or you could keep riding the indoor attractions over and over again.  Personally, I could sit through Mickey's PhilharMagic 20 times in a row!  A day playing in the rain makes for great memories!
