WE are traveling with friends this year. Most likely our teens will want to branch off from us. If we decide to get the dining plan, is there a way to restrict the number of snacks/meals they can purchase per day using their magic bands?

    Hiya, Karen! Welcome to planDisney!

Thanks for sharing your delicious dining plan question with us. My wife and I are big fans of the Disney Dining Plan because it’s how it helps with our vacation planning and budgeting. As my kids’ tastes shift from chicken strips to Chefs de France, it’s nice to have a set cost to budget towards.  Something I’m sure you can relate to when traveling with teenagers.

When you add a Disney Dining Plan to your vacation package, all of the dining credits for your entire party are added to your account. There isn’t a way to restrict who uses the dining credits if the person is in your party, and there isn’t a way to limit the number of credits someone uses.

There are a few easy ways to keep track of your dining credits, though, and you might want to share this with your hungry teenage travelers so they don’t go too crazy. You can monitor your dining credits through the My Disney Experience mobile app by going to the “My Visit” section on the main menu, clicking “Hotel Reservation,” and then selecting “Check Dining Plan.” You can also see the total number of remaining dining credits your party has at the bottom of any dining receipts, or you can ask your Resort Concierge or Guest Relations Cast Member for the amount.

I hope this info is helpful, Karen. If you have more questions or are looking for dining recommendations, don’t hesitate to come back to planDisney. We’re always happy to help!

    Magical travels!
