    Traveling with four little ones under age 8 the first week in August. Do I need to pack any type of clothing other than shorts and tank tops? Are mornings or evenings cool enough that we would need heavier clothing at that time of year?

    Hi there, Kim!

    I have to tell you, since moving to Florida about a year ago, I find the weather here so unpredictable. Sometimes during the summer, the mornings are so hot and humid that you couldn't pay me to put on much more than a swimsuit. Other mornings, we need to throw on a light jacket. Being from Seattle, we're used to cool mornings but the ones in Florida are much warmer than the cool mornings we're used to back home. It's not too often that my husband or I need a jacket, but the kids are a bit of different story. One morning last summer, we had a very cold princess who didn't think she'd need her jacket in July. She brings it every time now just in case.

    This same scenario holds true for the evenings. Sometimes it really cools down at night and if you're by the water, you may find that you need a light jacket.

    With you having 4 little ones, I'd recommend bringing 1 pair of long pants and a light jacket for each one of them just to be on the safe side. I'm sure that suitcase room is a hot commodity with your family size, but I feel like it would be better to have them with you. I don't think you'll need them much at all in August, but better to have them and not need them than to not have and need them, know what I mean?
