traveling to florida with a disabled passenger. would you reccommend car hire or is it easy for taxis that can take a wheelchair.

    Hi there, Barbara!

Walt Disney World does so much to ensure that all of its Guests have an incredible time. Its internal bus system is equipped to carry Guests in wheelchairs, both those able to transfer and not.

You could go in either direction you choose. Taxis are readily available throughout the Parks and Resorts; your Resort concierge and bell services will be happy to assist in making arrangements in advance, too. The taxis range in size from car to passenger van, and you will be able to find the size you need to accommodate the chair you need to transport.

Renting a car, too, allows you a level of independence that the internal bus system and taxis often do not afford someone in that situation. If several wheelchairs are already aboard an internal bus, for example, your traveling party will need to wait to board the next one. And you might have to wait for the right-sized taxi. I'd think that renting a car, in accordance with the exact specifications of your needs, might allow you the kind of come-and-go freedom that you are accustomed to at home.

Please let me know if I can be of further assistance!

    See you later, celebrator,
