I am traveling on my first Disney Cruise; in Dec. from Galveston. How formal is "formal" night? Does my 3yo need a tux? Also when do you find out your dining rotation? I want to ensure that we are able to dine at all restaurants. Already booked P

    Hi Adrienne!

Congratulations on your first Disney cruise!  I'm so thrilled for you.  I know that you're going to have such a blast, and you'll be planning your next sailing even before you're off the first.  I do that each and every time I sail on a Disney cruise.

Although you can have your son or any of the other guys in your party wear tuxedos, you really don't have to go to the extra expense.  A suit is just fine for a man or your little guy.  I typically don't do a suit for my son.  He wears slacks, shirt and tie and a sports jacket.  It's up to you.  For women, you can wear a dress or slacks and a festive, sparkly top.  I like having my family dress up for formal night because it's the only time during the year that I can get that "fancy, happy" picture of all of us at the same time.

As for your dining rotation, you can call Disney Cruise Line directly as your trip gets closer (about 1-2 weeks ahead) to ask.  You will definitely find out the rotation when you arrive at your stateroom.  There are tickets waiting for each guest with your dining information on it.

I hope this helps Adrienne.  Please let me know if I can help you with anything else.  Thanks for visiting the Moms Panel.  Have a wonderful sailing!

Magic Kingdom still takes my breath away, but my favorite place to be is on a Disney ship looking at the horizon and breathing in that crisp, clean ocean air!  I love planning Disney vacations for others and making sure it's more than they dreamed. Learn More About Marisol
