Ahoy, Melinda!
With a mom with two girls the same ages as your boys, I understand how you feel about wanting to keep in contact with them during your cruise! The good thing about sailing with Disney Cruise Line is that you can let older kids have a bit of freedom on the ship, knowing they are in a safe environment with lots of activities to keep them busy!
Each stateroom comes with two Wave Phones for complimentary use during your sailing. If you'd like to get an extra Wave Phone so both boys can stay connected, simply stop by the Guest Services Desk in the lobby to pick one up. There is a small rental fee per day that will be charged to your stateroom. We did this on our last cruise, and it worked out great! Just remember, there will only be two Wave Phone chargers in your room, so you'll need to make sure to switch them out to get them all fully charged.
I also have some other great news! Disney Cruise Line's mobile Navigator app now has messaging capabilities so you can stay connected with friends and family onboard. The app, available for Apple and Android smartphones, is free to download and use. The app also features dining and entertainment information, maps of the ships and
Castaway Cay, Youth Club info, Character Greeting times and locations, and more. There's even a fun Disney Cruise countdown calendar! You can find out more about the Disney Cruise Line Navigator App
