we are traveling with another family member who is not staying in the park, but being picked up by another family member, and traveling home with us. Is there a way to get him on the bus to have him picked up at the hotel? thus eliminating renting a car.

    Hi Vera!

Every person who walks through the gates of a Disney theme park is a guest - regardless of where they are staying!  Since he will be paying to enter a theme park, he will be allowed to board any of the free transportation options that you will be allowed to.  This includes everything from buses to monorails!  I am not sure that I understood your question correctly, so if I missed something, feel free to let me know!  Have a wonderful vacation!
